Taught gifted classes in six buildings to students in pre-kindergarten through grade nine.  Program used Triad Model, operated under a special education mandate and used IEPs.

Taught all subjects except social studies, but taught all third- and fourth-grade science.

Taught all subjects except social studies, but taught all fourth-grade science.  One education major each year, a senior, was selected to become an intern.  The intern was a full-time faculty member in the Lab School for that entire year.

Lemmon Public Schools, Lemmon, SD. Classroom Teacher--isolated rural school grades 5-8. 1977-1979
Taught all subjects for grades five through eight, drove school bus, was lead teacher, and maintained building.  School enrolled 24 students, had two teachers (K-4 and 5-8) and served an area of about 2000 square miles.

Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. Coordinator of Summer Programs 1988-1990
College of Education, Department of Educational Studies--Gifted Education Resource Institute. Coordinated five intensive, academic programs for gifted youngsters.  The programs served about 500 students from grades five through twelve per summer.  Supervised a year-round staff of six, a summer staff of sixty or more, and managed a half-million dollar a year budget.

University of North Texas, Denton, TX, Director -- Investigations of Talented Students 1994-1999

ITS is a research and service center. The 1996-1997 budget was about $175,000 and employed 31 full and part-time persons.

Services offered by ITS:

$           Elementary Mathematics Testing and Advising Program (families advised and students assessed in mathematics aptitude, and achievement)

$           Intensive Mathematics Institute (students grades six through eleven, taking accelerated algebra I, algebra II, geometry, or pre-calculus in an intense 3-week summer program) (1997 65 students)

$           Intensive Science Institute (students grades seven through eleven, taking accelerated chemistry in an intense 3-week summer program) (1997 10 students)

$           Developmental Mathematics Institute (students grades four through seven taking accelerated pre-algebra and pre-geometry in an intense two-week program) (1997 20 students)

$           Parent consulting and advising: Working with parents of gifted and talented children and their schools.

$           Parent group presentations: Speaking at gifted parent-school associations meeting or visiting teachers and schools of individual gifted students  (no charge to parent group, parents of students visited, or schools)

Yearly intensive summer programs for mathematically talented middle- and high-school students. 1991 algebra II: 50 mathematically talented minority students only; 1992: algebra I, algebra II, and geometry: 60 mathematically talented students; 1993: algebra I, algebra II, geometry, and pre-calculus: 60 mathematically talented students; 1994 algebra I, algebra II, and geometry: 60 mathematically talented students.
