Jaehyung Ju
Dr. Jaehyung Ju is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering (MEE) at the University of North Texas (UNT). Prior to joining the department, he had worked as a Research Associate of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University (2008-2011). Dr. Ju had worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (2007-2008) and a postdoctoral researcher at Texas Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) (2005-2007). He received Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University-College Station in 2005. He also had worked at CAD/CAM research center of Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) (1996-2000) as a Research Scientist and at Dongyang Technical University (1999-2000) as a Lecturer.
He is interested in mechanics, design and manufacturing of multifunctional materials and structures; compliant cellular materials, electro-active materials, and non-pneumatic tires while focusing on energy efficiency and energy harvesting. He has published more than 50 refereed journal articles and conference proceedings in the area of mechanics, design and structural dynamics of composites, cellular materials, sandwich structures, electro-active materials, and non-pneumatic tires. He has filed four US patents as a main inventor on non-pneumatic tire components with cellular materials while collaborating with Michelin.
He is working as technical committee and a session organizer of i) tire and wheel technology of SAE World Congress, ii) advanced vehicle and tire technology of ASME-IDETC, and iii) composite and heterogeneous materials of ASME-IMECE. He is serving as an editorial board member of the journal " Modern Mechanical Engineering.
